Lynk Global and Omnispace close merger to form Elveo Mobile

Pairing Lynk's smallsat network with Omnispace's licensed S-band spectrum gives phones direct satellite service without new hardware.

• Lynk Global and Omnispace completed their merger, closing Aug. 14, 2026, and rebranded the combined company as Elveo Mobile after clearing all U.S. and foreign regulatory approvals.
• Elveo is a direct-to-device satellite operator headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area, led by former Lynk CEO Ramu Potarazu, with ex-Omnispace CEO Ram Viswanathan now chief strategy officer.
• The deal fuses Omnispace's 60 MHz of globally coordinated S-band spectrum with Lynk's patented 'cell tower in space' payloads, which currently power seven small satellites in orbit.
• Elveo says it already has commercial agreements with more than 50 mobile network operators and distribution partners across over 60 countries, testing service with ten operators.
• The merger was first announced in October 2025, with SES — a prior investor in both Lynk and Omnispace — carrying its stake into the combined venture as a leading shareholder.
• Combining dedicated satellite spectrum with an operating smallsat network lets Elveo pursue heavier data and voice services, closing the technical gap with SpaceX's Starlink Direct to Cell and AST SpaceMobile, which have outpaced Lynk and Omnispace individually.
• Elveo plans to grow toward roughly 320 LEO satellites and start commercial service in early 2028, alongside new manufacturing, launch and MNO partnership announcements later this year.
