Descartes Systems buys warehouse tech firm Extensiv for $120M

It's the second logistics software deal in eight days, signaling a land-grab to own every layer from warehouse to last mile.

• Descartes Systems Group acquired Extensiv, a warehouse management and fulfillment software provider, for approximately $120 million, paid entirely in cash on hand.
• California-based Extensiv helps third-party logistics providers manage inventory, orders, B2B/B2C fulfillment and billing across sales channels, ecommerce platforms, marketplaces and carriers, using AI on that omnichannel data to sharpen warehouse decision-making.
• The purchase comes just a week after Descartes' $100 million cash acquisition of Tai, an AI-powered transportation management system provider for freight brokers, announced August 24, 2026.
• Descartes has been on a buying spree, having also acquired Latin American last-mile tech firm Drivin for $30 million in July and fleet safety provider Idelic for $28 million in April.
• As ecommerce fulfillment splinters across marketplaces and direct-to-consumer channels, owning the warehouse layer alongside transportation and customs data lets Descartes sell 3PLs a single connected platform instead of a patchwork of vendors.
