Cognition Acquires Corridor to Build Security Into Devin's Code
October 28, 2026
The startup's founders previously worked at the US cyber agency CISA, giving Cognition a security pedigree instead of building the function in-house.
- Cognition, maker of the Devin AI coding agent, acquired code-security startup Corridor on October 28, folding its team and product into Devin Security; financial terms were not disclosed.
- Corridor builds real-time security controls for AI coding agents, scanning code from tools like Cursor, Claude Code and Codex before it reaches a pull request.
- Founded in 2024 by ex-CISA officials Jack Cable and Ashwin Ramaswami, Corridor had raised about $30.4M total, including a $25M Series A at a $200M valuation led by Felicis in March 2026.
- The deal reunites the founders with Alex Stamos, who backed Corridor's seed round and became Cognition's chief security officer about a month before the acquisition.
- The acquisition lands two days after Cognition launched Devin Security on October 26, pairing bug-hunting in existing code with Corridor's prevention of new vulnerabilities as agents write it.
- As AI agents generate code faster than humans can review it, security vendors are becoming acquisition targets for the agent platforms themselves, not just tooling partners.
