Dash0 Buys Berlin's Polar Signals to Power Self-Healing Software

Profiling data once reserved for performance experts is becoming the feedback loop AI coding agents need to fix their own mistakes.

• Dash0 has acquired Berlin-based Polar Signals, a continuous-profiling startup, with financial terms of the deal undisclosed.
• Dash0, founded in 2023 by Mirko Novakovic (who previously built Instana and sold it to IBM in 2020), runs an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform; Polar Signals was founded in 2020 by Frederic Branczyk, a former Red Hat engineer and Kubernetes tech lead who built the open-source profiler Parca.
• Polar Signals' profiler can continuously trace CPU, memory, and GPU/CUDA usage on NVIDIA chips in live production with under 1% overhead, using eBPF sampling with no code changes.
• The deal also brings Polar Signals' custom database, 'Great Lakes,' which will replace ClickHouse as the storage engine underneath Dash0's SignalStore as data volumes grow.
• Dash0 recently closed a $110 million Series B at a $1 billion valuation and now serves more than 750 customers, including Zalando, Taco Bell, and The Telegraph.
• Dash0 plans to feed profiling data into 'Agent0,' powering a new 'AutoTune' feature that autonomously hunts for inefficient code and drafts pull requests to fix it.
• As more production code is written and run by AI agents rather than humans, line-level and kernel-level profiling shifts from a niche expert tool to essential ground truth for autonomous optimization.
