SpaceX and Tesla commit $16.8B to build Terafab chip complex in Texas

The project reflects a bet that future robots, robotaxis and orbital data centers will outstrip the world's chip supply.

• SpaceX and Tesla will invest $16.8 billion in Terafab, a jointly developed AI semiconductor complex to be built in Grimes County, Texas, outside Houston.
