Ooredoo leads $800M Nvidia-Nokia AI platform for Southeast Asia

The Qatari operator is betting neocloud infrastructure, not core connectivity, will fuel its next decade of growth.

• Ooredoo Group is committing roughly $800 million as founding shareholder and lead investor to take a 49% stake in Zankore, a new AI compute platform built with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Nvidia and Nokia.
• Zankore is a first-of-its-kind dedicated AI compute and neocloud platform designed to serve hyperscalers, enterprises and governments across Asia-Pacific, launching first in Indonesia.
• The platform targets 1GW of Nvidia DSX AI Factory capacity long-term, with an initial 200MW live in H1 2027 running Nvidia GB300 NVL72 racks and DSX MaxLPS power optimization that can lift compute output up to 40% within the same power budget.
• Zankore is forecast to generate about $13 billion in revenue and $9 billion in cumulative EBITDA over five years, with roughly $600 million of that EBITDA flowing to Ooredoo Group.
• Ooredoo already runs more than 26 data centers across the Middle East through its AI infrastructure arm Syntys and struck its first Nvidia cloud partnership via Indosat in Indonesia two years earlier, making this a natural extension rather than a first move into AI.
• As Southeast Asia's data center demand is projected to grow 3.5x by 2030, telecom operators are racing to convert network scale into AI compute equity stakes before hyperscalers and neoclouds lock up regional capacity.
