Agility Robotics unveils Digit 5, a humanoid built to work safely beside people

Regulatory filings released days earlier show just $1.8 million in 2025 revenue behind the robot maker's $2.5 billion SPAC valuation.

• Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5 on September 15, 2026, its first humanoid engineered for 'cooperatively safe' work that lets it operate near people without the physical barriers traditional robots require.
• Agility builds general-purpose humanoids for warehouses and factories; its current Digit 4 has logged over 65,000 operating hours at customers including Amazon, GXO, Schaeffler and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada.
• Digit 5 lifts up to 50 pounds, 40% more than Digit 4, reaches objects 7.2 feet high, and runs over 20 hours a day on a battery that recharges in 9 minutes.
• The robot's new safety system uses AI and multiple sensors to detect nearby workers and responds by stopping, sitting down or steering around them, built on NVIDIA's newly launched Halos for Robotics platform, making Agility its first launch partner.
• Agility says it has more than $300 million in multi-year Digit 5 orders as of May 2026, subject to contractual milestones, with its RoboFab plant in Oregon designed to build up to 10,000 units a year.
• The launch comes as Agility's SEC filings for its planned $2.5 billion SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI show only $1.8 million in 2025 net sales and going-concern language about its ability to keep operating.
• Early customer access to Digit 5 is expected in the first half of 2027, with broader availability across North America, the EU and UK by the end of 2027.
• Removing the safety cages that separate robots from workers is the key unlock for scaling humanoids beyond isolated pilots into full, shared-floor deployments.
