September 9, 2026
Raised
$550M
Investors are now pricing a single legal-AI vendor near 39 times revenue, treating it as the category's reference asset.
- Harvey closed a $550 million round at a $15.6 billion valuation, co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Diffusion, a new firm founded by ex-Coatue investor Kris Fredrickson.
- Harvey builds AI for legal and professional-services work—research, drafting, due diligence, litigation support—used by more than 3,000 organizations including Latham & Watkins, Microsoft's in-house legal team, and 80% of the Am Law 100.
- Annual recurring revenue passed $400 million and roughly doubled in six months, while customers grew from about 1,300 in March to over 3,000 now, lifting valuation from $11 billion to $15.6 billion.
- Alongside the raise, Harvey acquired AI-agent security startup Guardrails AI, its fourth acquisition of 2026, with founders Shreya Rajpal and Zayd Simjee joining Harvey's product and engineering teams.
- New capital will fund proprietary AI development, following Harvey's release of Tenet, its first fine-tuned legal model built on Moonshot AI's open-weight Kimi K3, reducing reliance on OpenAI and Anthropic.
- The nearly 39x revenue multiple shows investors betting legal AI can become one of the largest enterprise software categories born from generative AI, rather than a thin wrapper around foundation models.
