Robotaxi hype has focused on driving software, but someone still has to clean, charge and repair the fleet every night.
- Moove closed a $250 million Series C at a $2.1 billion valuation, led by Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company and co-led by Woven Capital and Ion Pacific.
- Founded in Lagos in 2020, Moove finances and operates ride-hail vehicle fleets and already manages depot operations for Waymo's robotaxis in Phoenix and Miami.
- The capital funds 'Nests,' robotics-first depots where autonomous fleets are charged, serviced, maintained and orchestrated for continuous operation.
- Moove operates roughly 42,000 vehicles across 29 cities in 13 countries, employs 3,300 people, and has grown to about $420M in annual recurring revenue.
- The new $2.1B valuation is 2.8 times the $750M mark Moove held after a $100M round led by Uber in 2024.
- Moove plans to grow its autonomous-vehicle staff more than 220%, from about 150 employees to roughly 500 by year-end, while expanding into the US, Europe and Asia.
- The round signals investors betting that owning the physical layer beneath robotaxis — depots, charging, maintenance — will prove as valuable as the self-driving software itself.
