xAI launches Grok Bot, an always-on AI agent that logs into your apps

Handing an autonomous bot your login credentials trades convenience for a security risk enterprises haven't priced in yet.

• xAI released Grok Bot in beta on August 11, 2026, a system of persistent AI agents that sign into a user's existing apps and websites to complete multi-step work with minimal oversight.
• The launch comes from xAI, now operating under the SpaceXAI banner and mid-merger with Cursor, whose subscription tiers host initial Grok Bot access.
• Each Bot runs in its own cloud computer, keeps working after a laptop closes, and can learn a workflow by watching a user perform it once, saving it as a repeatable routine.

• Grok Bot enters a field already crowded with Anthropic's Claude computer use and Cowork, OpenAI's Codex and Workspace Agents, and Microsoft's Scout, all racing toward long-running work agents.
