Navi lands its first outside capital: $100M from Prosus at $1.3B
August 19, 2026
Raised
$100M
The round values Sachin Bansal's fintech below the $2B it sought in 2024, a rare down round ahead of an IPO push.
- Navi has raised $100 million from Dutch investor Prosus, its first-ever institutional capital raise, valuing the company at about $1.3 billion.
- Founded in 2018 by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal after he exited that company, Navi offers digital payments, lending, insurance and mutual funds from Bengaluru.
- The deal, routed through Prosus subsidiary MIH Payments Holdings BV, buys a minority stake and still needs Competition Commission of India clearance.
- Navi's UPI app ranks fourth nationally, processing over 947 million transactions worth roughly $5.05 billion in July, while lending arm Navi Finserv's AUM topped ₹130 billion (~$1.4 billion).
- Navi had filed for a $440 million IPO in 2022 but shelved it in 2023 as markets slumped, and is now reportedly targeting a roughly $300 million listing.
- After eight years running on Bansal's own capital, bringing in an outside investor at a valuation below its 2024 target shows how much fintech pricing has cooled even as Navi pushes toward a public listing.
