Xpeng's robotics unit Dogotix raises $900M Series A at $6.3B valuation

The round is the largest private financing yet in China's embodied AI race, led by IDG Capital with Alibaba and Tencent along for the ride.

• XPeng's robotics subsidiary Dogotix raised over $900 million in a Series A round led by IDG Capital, valuing it at more than $6.3 billion post-money.
• Dogotix builds XPeng's IRON humanoid robot, which shares the Turing AI chip used in the company's electric vehicles and is slated for mass production by the end of 2026.
• Of the $900 million, $600 million came from external investors including Alibaba, Tencent, IDG Capital and Gaorong Ventures, while XPeng itself contributed $200 million and executives $100 million.
• Investors received Series A preferred shares plus warrants, and hold redemption rights if Dogotix fails to complete a qualified IPO within seven years, with XPeng's stake diluting from 100% to about 68.4%.
• Dogotix's robotics business posted unaudited net losses of RMB87 million in 2024 and RMB369 million in 2025, with net liabilities of about RMB447 million as of March 2026 before this capital injection.
• The raise came as XPeng reported a widened Q2 net loss of RMB1.34 billion, up 179% year-over-year, even as vehicle revenue rose 8%.
• The round ranks in the 99th percentile of global Series A deals over the past four years and dwarfs the $455 million TARS Robotics raised in April, underscoring how fast capital is flowing into China's embodied AI sector.
• By spinning out robotics with outside capital rather than funding it entirely in-house, XPeng shields its core EV balance sheet while still betting that humanoid robots, not just cars, will define its next growth phase.
