WELL Health Teams with AliveCor for AI ECG Reviews in Canada
WELL Health Technologies partners with AliveCor to integrate Canadian cardiologists into the Kardia platform for 24-hour ECG reviews. The first-phase deal aims to expand remote cardiac monitoring nationwide.
WELL Health Technologies, a digital healthcare provider operating over 250 clinics in Canada, has formed a strategic partnership with AliveCor, a specialist in AI-powered personal ECG technology. Canadian users of AliveCor's Kardia devices can now request clinician reviews through the Kardia app, receiving evaluations from WELL's network of licensed cardiologists within 24 hours. These reviews validate AI-generated results and offer guidance on next steps, enabling home-based heart health assessments without in-person visits. This integration addresses rising cardiology wait times, which have increased 53% in Canada, by combining AI detection with expert oversight.
The partnership launches as its initial phase, with plans to broaden AliveCor's Kardia solutions across WELL's national network of over 43,000 providers in Canada and the US. Future expansions could deploy Kardia 12L, a portable 12-lead ECG system, into WELL's primary care, urgent care, and outpatient clinics to enhance point-of-care diagnostics. WELL, which reported record $1.4 billion revenue recently, views this as a scalable revenue stream from clinical services while easing system pressures through faster patient insights.
This collaboration positions WELL to leverage its outpatient ecosystem for remote monitoring growth amid surging demand for digital cardiac tools. By pairing clinician networks with AI hardware, the deal supports preventative care models, potentially reducing burdens on traditional cardiology services and improving access for Canadian patients nationwide.
