GovWell raised a $25M Series A led by Insight Partners to scale its AI operating system for modern government workflows across the U.S.

GovWell, a New York-based startup building an AI operating system for modern government, has secured a $25 million Series A round. The funding was led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing backers Work-Bench and Bienville Capital, alongside angel checks from GovTech industry leaders David Reeves, Andreas Huber, and Chris Bullock. The raise brings GovWell’s total funding to roughly the mid-$30 million range as it expands its platform, which helps local governments automate permitting, licensing, and other workflow-heavy processes.

The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate product development, deepen its AI capabilities, and scale go-to-market operations nationwide. GovWell focuses on replacing legacy government software and manual review with AI-assisted tools that can process applications faster and flag compliance issues automatically, aiming to reduce bureaucracy and improve turnaround times for residents and businesses. The Series A round underscores growing investor conviction in specialized AI systems for the public sector, where modern cloud and AI solutions are increasingly viewed as critical infrastructure for permitting, inspections, and constituent services.
