TCS forms Claude-focused AI unit in global Anthropic partnership

Tata Consultancy Services has entered a global strategic partnership with Anthropic to help large enterprises move generative AI from pilots into production, particularly in highly regulated sectors. Under the agreement, TCS has been named a Global Premier Partner in the Claude Partner Network, gaining early access to Anthropic’s Claude family of models and setting up a dedicated business unit to build industry-specific solutions and implementation capabilities around them. The company plans to license Claude for 50,000 employees across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales, using a large internal rollout to modernise its own operations and to develop best practices for client deployments.

Strategically, the partnership is designed to address common adoption hurdles in sectors where accuracy, auditability and compliance are critical, such as financial services, public services, healthcare, life sciences, aviation, telecom and medtech. TCS and Anthropic will jointly go to market with AI solutions for domain-specific workflows, application modernisation and customer experience transformation, supported by TCS’s consulting, engineering and managed services teams. The collaboration also extends to TCS products and platforms: UK-based life and pensions unit Diligenta plans to use Claude for agentic process transformation, BFSI products and platforms teams will employ Claude Code to boost software engineering and IT operations, and TCS iON will launch learning and certification programmes on Claude models to build an AI-ready workforce at scale. By combining Anthropic’s models with TCS’s governance frameworks and global delivery, the partners aim to make enterprise-wide AI adoption safer, more compliant and easier to operationalise.
