Series D

The pivot bets that AI can run scheduling, payments and client texts for salons and spas without a human touching any of it.

  • GlossGenius raised a $44 million Series D led by Lux Capital at a $1.15 billion valuation and simultaneously rebranded as Genius AI.
  • Founded in 2017 by twin sisters Danielle and Leah Cohen-Shohet, the platform began as booking and payments software for salons, spas and wellness businesses.
  • The round also drew Bessemer Venture Partners, Imaginary Ventures, L Catterton Growth Fund, 2048 Ventures and StepStone Private Ventures, bringing total funding to more than $125 million.
  • More than 125,000 businesses across half of all U.S. ZIP codes run on the platform, which the company says has saved 112 million hours of admin work and generated $2 billion in extra revenue for users.
  • Genius AI is approaching $200 million in annual recurring revenue this quarter, and is expanding beyond beauty and wellness to target the roughly $2 trillion U.S. in-person service economy.
  • The deal lands amid a broader 2026 wave of AI unicorn creation, with AI startups accounting for over a quarter of the 212 companies that crossed $1 billion valuations so far this year.
  • The rebrand signals a shift from vertical SaaS to fully autonomous AI agents handling calendars, payments and communications, a bet that automation itself — not the software layer — becomes the product.
