Origin, an AI-powered benefits management platform, secured $30 million in extended Series A funding led by Notion Capital to help multinational companies gain visibility into employee benefits spending and usage across fragmented global systems.

Origin, a London-based startup, announced a $30 million extended Series A+ funding round to expand its AI-powered platform for managing employee benefits at multinational enterprises. The round was led by Notion Capital, which also participated in Origin's initial Series A, with additional participation from Felix Capital, Acadian Ventures, and existing investors. The company also secured supplementary growth funding from HSBC Innovation Banking U.K. This latest investment brings Origin's total fundraising over the past 12 months to more than $50 million. The company declined to disclose its post-funding valuation but confirmed it increased from the initial Series A round.

Origin addresses a critical pain point for large organizations: benefits are typically their second-largest cost, yet most companies lack visibility into their actual spending. The platform uses an AI engine called Cuido to ingest fragmented benefits data scattered across PDFs, insurance policies, vendor platforms, and documents in multiple languages, consolidating it into a single queryable system. This enables HR executives to track spending and usage, manage renewals and policy reviews, and allows employees to quickly access information about available benefits. The company demonstrated impact through client results: one multinational company expecting to save approximately $75 million annually by using Origin's platform, while another consolidated 13 local insurance policies into a single regional plan, achieving 20% cost savings.

Origin was founded by Chris Bruce and Pete Craghill, who previously led Darwin, a benefits technology company acquired by Mercer in 2016 when it held 80% market share of the non-U.S. global benefits administration market. The company currently employs approximately 75 people with go-to-market teams in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe. Its anchor customers include major multinationals such as Pfizer, Comcast, and BP, who participated as paying co-creators during the platform's development. The new funding will support deeper integrations with human capital management platforms from Workday and Oracle's PeopleSoft, as well as expanded capabilities for brokers, consultants, and insurers.
