Immutrin Secures $87M Series A for ATTR Amyloidosis Antibodies
Raised
$87M
UK biotech Immutrin raised $87 million in a Series A round to advance antibody therapies targeting protein aggregates in ATTR amyloidosis, a progressive heart disease. The funding, led by Frazier Life Sciences and F-Prime, supports clinical proof-of-concept for its lead candidate.
Immutrin, a Cambridge, UK-based biotechnology company, completed an $87 million Series A financing on March 24, 2026. The proceeds will fund advancement of its lead antibody candidate through clinical proof-of-concept studies in ATTR cardiomyopathy, a form of transthyretin amyloidosis where misfolded proteins accumulate and damage heart tissue. The round equates to £65 million and includes participation from Qiming Venture Partners, SR One, and founding backers Cambridge Innovation Capital and Cambridge Enterprise Ventures. This marks the company's first major institutional raise, building on foundational research into amyloid clearance technologies.
The financing reflects strong investor confidence in Immutrin's approach to tackling amyloidosis, a group of rare diseases with significant unmet needs in cardiology and beyond. ATTR amyloidosis affects heart function progressively, with limited therapies focused on stabilization rather than aggregate removal. Immutrin's antibodies aim to directly clear these toxic deposits, potentially expanding to other amyloid-related conditions. Led by Frazier Life Sciences with F-Prime as co-lead, the syndicate highlights momentum in rare disease biotech investments amid a competitive funding landscape.
