Waypoint Bio closed a $20 million Series A led by Amplify Partners to advance its WAY-103 program toward a late-2026 trial.

Waypoint Bio closed a $20 million Series A financing round led by Amplify Partners. The round also included General Catalyst, Time BioVentures, Mitsui Global Investments, Lux Capital, and existing investor Hummingbird Ventures, and Amplify partner Elliot Hershberg will join the board of directors.

The New York-based biotech uses spatial biology and AI to design next-generation CAR T therapies for solid tumors. The new capital is intended to move its lead program, WAY-103, into an investigator-initiated trial that is expected to begin in late 2026.

The raise extends Waypoint Bio’s earlier financing history, which included a $14.5 million seed round backed by Hummingbird Ventures, Recode Ventures, and Fifty Years. The company’s focus on AI-native cell therapy development places it in a growing category of biotechs using computational tools to accelerate therapeutic design and clinical translation.
