AI gateway OpenRouter raised $113M in a CapitalG-led Series B at about a $1.3B valuation, with backing from major strategic investors including NVentures and Snowflake Ventures.

OpenRouter, a New York-based AI infrastructure startup that routes traffic across hundreds of large language models through a single API, has raised $113 million in a Series B round. The financing was led by CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, with participation from NVentures, ServiceNow Ventures, MongoDB Ventures, Snowflake Ventures, Databricks Ventures and existing backers Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures. The round was announced on May 26, 2026 and follows rapid growth in token volume and enterprise usage of OpenRouter’s AI model exchange and routing layer.

Multiple reports indicate the Series B values OpenRouter at roughly $1.3 billion post-money, more than doubling the company’s estimated $547 million valuation from its Series A in June 2025. The fresh capital will be used to expand routing intelligence, governance, and optimization capabilities as enterprises increasingly push AI workloads into production. With strategic investors spanning cloud data platforms, chipmakers, workflow software and database providers, OpenRouter is positioning its marketplace and routing infrastructure as a neutral layer that helps developers and organizations select, govern, and optimize across 400-plus AI models from different providers.
