Ambrosia Biosciences raised $100M in an oversubscribed Series B to advance its oral small-molecule GLP-1 therapy into Phase 1 trials. Co-led by Blue Owl Healthcare Opportunities, Redmile Group, and Deep Track Capital.

Ambrosia Biosciences, a Boulder, Colorado-based drug discovery firm, completed a $100 million oversubscribed Series B funding round on March 31, 2026. The capital will fund IND-enabling studies and Phase 1 clinical trials for its lead oral GLP-1 receptor agonist, AMB-234, alongside progression of GIPR antagonist and amylin programs targeting obesity and cardiometabolic disorders. Preclinical data for the lead candidate was presented at ObesityWeek 2025, highlighting its potential for low dosing, 24-hour coverage, and combination therapy suitability. The round drew co-leads Blue Owl Healthcare Opportunities, Redmile Group, and Deep Track Capital, with participation from existing investors BVF Partners and Boulder Ventures, plus new backers Janus Henderson Investors and Samsara BioCapital.

This financing builds on Ambrosia's prior $25 million Series A, which included a strategic investment from Merck, validating its platform derived from former Array BioPharma expertise. The funds position the company to enter human trials in early 2027, addressing key limitations of injectable peptide therapies with oral small molecules. In the exploding anti-obesity market, Ambrosia's approach targets Class B GPCR pathways like GLP-1R, GIPR, and amylin for improved accessibility and efficacy in metabolic treatments.

The investor lineup, featuring growth-stage specialists like Redmile with prior biotech IPO successes, underscores confidence in Ambrosia's capital-efficient model. This milestone accelerates competition in oral GLP-1 development amid historical challenges like toxicity seen in rivals. Ambrosia's pipeline expansion signals broader ambitions in cardiometabolic innovation, potentially reshaping treatment paradigms for obesity and related conditions.
