Asana buys StackAI for $75M to power cross-system AI workflows

Asana has completed the acquisition of StackAI, a San Francisco–based no-code AI workflow and agent-building platform that connects and automates processes across enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, IT service management tools, and document platforms. Asana did not disclose financial terms in its official announcement, but multiple reports and an SEC filing indicate a purchase price of approximately $75 million, largely in upfront cash with an additional equity-based earnout component. StackAI’s co-founders, MIT PhDs Tony Rosinol and Bernard Aceituno, are joining Asana, while the StackAI product will continue operating under its own name for existing and new customers.

The deal is a strategic move in Asana’s push to become an AI-native work management and "operating system for human-agent teams," extending its AI Teammates and AI Studio products with a dedicated execution layer for complex, cross-system workflows. StackAI enables enterprises in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, professional services, and technology to design, test, deploy, and govern AI agents that automate business-critical workflows like customer support, IT service requests, and compliance processes across tools including Salesforce, AWS, Oracle, Docusign, and other industry systems. Asana has tied the acquisition to its broader financial and product strategy, highlighting that AI product bookings are expected to represent a growing share of new ARR and positioning StackAI as a key driver of orchestrated, governed AI automation across enterprise environments.
