Xpeng's flying car draws 7,000 orders ahead of Munich debut

A factory built to produce 10,000 units a year suggests Xpeng sees this as a real product line, not a stunt.

• Xpeng unveiled its 'Land Aircraft Carrier' flying car at a Munich event, revealing over 7,000 orders already placed and plans for mass production this year.
• The vehicle is a six-wheeled ground car carrying a detachable two-seat eVTOL module that can separate and take off vertically, then be picked back up after landing.
• Xpeng has completed a dedicated flying-car factory with planned annual capacity of 10,000 units and now runs two aerial product lines: the Land Aircraft Carrier and the standalone eVTOL A868.
• Initial deliveries will target China first, not Europe, despite the German unveiling.
• The flying car debuted alongside Xpeng's global launch of the Mona L03 SUV and its Iron humanoid robot, part of a 'Physical AI' strategy positioning Xpeng as more than a carmaker.
• Xpeng has already sold 61,000 vehicles across Europe and is targeting 8,000 sales in Germany this year, rising to 20,000 next year.
