Valuation
$150B
A listing at that scale would eclipse every prior US chip IPO, riding investor appetite for AI infrastructure plays.
- Solidigm, SK Hynix's US NAND and SSD subsidiary, held pitch meetings with investment banks this week as it weighs a US IPO as soon as 2027 that could value it at up to $150 billion.
- Solidigm supplies enterprise SSDs for servers, cloud infrastructure and data centers, with customers including CoreWeave, Vast Data, Dell Technologies and Tencent.
- The offering could raise as much as $15 billion, according to people familiar with the matter, which would rank it among the largest-ever US semiconductor listings.
- SK Hynix formed Solidigm in 2021 after acquiring Intel's NAND memory and SSD business for about $9 billion in a deal first announced in 2020.
- Last month SK Hynix said it was weighing steps to boost Solidigm's competitiveness following reports of a possible pre-IPO fundraising round of roughly $3.6 billion (5 trillion won).
- A $150 billion valuation would make Solidigm one of the most valuable standalone memory companies ever, underscoring how AI data-center demand is repricing NAND storage assets once seen as commodity hardware.
