Supabase raises $150M more, acquires Turso to power AI coding agents

$150M
Investors are doubling down just four months after a $500 million round, a sign agent-driven software demand is outrunning normal funding cycles.
- Supabase raised $150 million in new funding led by Singapore's GIC, with CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg participating, and simultaneously agreed to acquire database startup Turso.
- Supabase is an open-source Postgres backend platform offering auth, storage, edge functions, real-time subscriptions and vector search to more than 13 million developers.
- Turso, built on SQLite, lets platforms spin up huge numbers of low-cost, isolated databases instantly for individual AI agents; founder Glauber Costa joins Supabase as head of agentic services.
- Supabase now adds more than 1 million users and 4 million databases per month, with 70% of new databases created by AI agents or AI-driven tools.
- The round values Supabase at $10.65 billion, up from roughly $10.5 billion after its $500 million Series F just four months earlier.
- CapitalG's participation is notable because its parent Alphabet owns Firebase, one of Supabase's main rivals in backend-as-a-service tooling.
- Supabase plans to use Turso's architecture to power Supabase Compute, a new hosted sandbox service for long-running AI agents.
- Back-to-back raises just months apart show investors racing to fund the infrastructure layer beneath AI-written code, where database and backend demand now scales with agent activity rather than human developer headcount.
