EQT Closes Acquisition of Satellite Launch Manager Exolaunch
October 7, 2026
Private equity backing lets the launch integrator chase new rockets, orbits and in-space services as constellation demand accelerates.
- Exolaunch announced that EQT X has completed its acquisition of the company, closing a deal first agreed on June 18, 2026.
- Berlin-based Exolaunch is a launch mission management and satellite integration and deployment technology provider serving major satellite operators worldwide.
- EQT's backing will fund Exolaunch's global expansion, new satellite launch and deployment technology, and broader services across the space value chain, including in-space manufacturing and payload return.
- Exolaunch recently won the launch integrator role for the German Space Agency and NASA's GRACE-C mission on Falcon 9, and secured capacity on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' H3 rocket for a 2027 flight, its first launch from Japan.
- Exolaunch has also worked with UNOOSA, awarding launch opportunities in June 2025 to institutions in Bolivia, Guatemala, Jordan and Nepal to widen access to space for developing nations.
- Institutional capital moving into launch logistics and mission management, not just rocket-building, shows investors now see rideshare and deployment services as a durable, scalable layer of the space economy.
