Freshworks agrees to acquire Israeli SaaS-management startup Torii
October 12, 2026
AI tools now bill by the token, a pricing model most corporate finance systems were never built to track.
- Freshworks (NASDAQ: FRSH) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Torii, with the deal expected to close in Freshworks' fourth fiscal quarter of 2026.
- Torii, founded in Tel Aviv in 2017 by Uri Haramati, Tal Bereznitskey and Uri Nativ, built a platform that identifies the software and cloud services employees use and manages licenses, subscriptions and access.
- A key feature tracks AI consumption at the token level, attributing usage to individual employees and teams and forecasting future costs so IT can set spending limits.
- The acquisition folds Torii into Freshservice, Freshworks' IT service management product, giving customers one view of technology inventory, usage and spend instead of separate systems.
- Torii had raised $65 million since its founding; financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, though the deal is estimated to be relatively small.
- Torii was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SaaS Management Platforms for the third consecutive year, with customers including Hearst Corporation, Groupon and Koch, Inc.
- As enterprises adopt consumption-priced AI tools alongside sprawling SaaS stacks, IT and finance teams are losing visibility into costs, making spend-governance tooling a natural bolt-on for service-management vendors.
