Tradeweb to acquire credit trading platform Trumid for $1.97B
October 19, 2026
Deal Value
$2B
The deal stitches bond trading into one platform, from new issue through secondary market liquidity.
- Tradeweb Markets agreed to acquire Trumid Holdings, an electronic credit trading marketplace, for approximately $1.97 billion.
- Trumid runs an electronic trading platform for corporate bonds, built with dealer-community input on its trading protocols; past backers include George Soros, Peter Thiel and Delphi Financial Group.
- The $1.97B price breaks down into $1.75 billion for the business and about $220 million for tax assets, paid as roughly $1.89 billion in cash and $82 million in Tradeweb equity.
- Closing, targeted for the first half of 2027, is subject to HSR antitrust clearance, UK Competition and Markets Authority review, and FINRA approval; a broken-deal fee of $105 million applies in certain termination scenarios.
- Tradeweb already facilitates more than $3.0 trillion in trading value per day across asset classes, giving scale to the combined credit business.
- Tradeweb expects the acquisition to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share within the first full year after closing.
- By combining trade inception tools with secondary-market execution, Tradeweb aims to own more of the bond lifecycle as credit markets keep shifting from voice to electronic trading.
