Deal Value
$63M
The Australian fraud-detection company is betting document scanning plus identity data beats point solutions from rivals like Socure and Jumio.
- Stakk Limited (ASX: SKK), an Australian digital-trust software company, completed its $63 million (A$88.7 million) all-cash acquisition of Boulder, Colorado-based ParaScript, a deal first agreed in July 2026.
- ParaScript has spent more than 30 years building AI-powered handwriting recognition, signature verification and document-fraud detection software for banks, insurers and government agencies.
- ParaScript's document-recognition engine will plug into Stakk's Digital Persona Graph platform, pairing document data with identity, behavioral and contextual signals to flag fraud in milliseconds.
- The combined company now serves more than 300 enterprise customers and processes over 110 billion digital interactions a year across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
- Emiliano Giacchetti, ParaScript's CEO since 2024, becomes CEO of the combined Stakk IQ/ParaScript unit and is in line to become Stakk's Group CEO pending shareholder approval.
- Analysts say the deal pressures established identity-verification vendors such as Entrust, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Socure and Jumio to match Stakk's broader, all-in-one fraud stack.
- The combination reflects a shift in fraud prevention toward unified platforms that fuse documents, identity and behavior data as generative AI makes synthetic identities and forged documents easier to produce.
