Germany's cyber insurance market is projected to nearly quintuple by 2034, and insurers are racing to plant flags early.
- Stoik, a European cyber insurance startup, secured $107 million in new funding and announced an expansion into the German market.
- Stoik provides cyber insurance and risk management tools for European businesses, with over 15,000 insured companies and more than 180 employees as of September 2026.
- Stoik already runs a German entity, Stoïk GmbH, led by managing director Franziska Geier, indicating the company had a foothold in Germany before this announced expansion.
- Stoik also hired Xavier Marguinaud, former Head of Cyber International at insurer Tokio Marine HCC, as its new VP of Insurance to lead underwriting, claims and product development across all markets.
- Germany's cyber insurance market was worth $759.6 million in 2025 and is projected to reach $3.7 billion by 2034, growing at an 18.68% annual rate.
- As ransomware and AI-driven fraud push more European businesses to buy cyber coverage, insurers with underwriting discipline and capital to scale are positioning to capture a market expanding faster than most of financial services.
