Saronic Technologies closed a $1.75 billion Series D funding round on March 31, 2026, led by Kleiner Perkins. The investment values the Austin, Texas-based company at $9.25 billion post-money. New investors Advent International, Bessemer Venture Partners, DFJ Growth, and BAM Elevate joined, alongside existing backers 8VC, Caffeinated Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Elad Gil, and Franklin Templeton. The funds target expansion of shipbuilding capacity, including a new facility called Port Alpha and upgrades to sites in Louisiana and Texas, to accelerate production of autonomous surface vessels for defense and commercial applications.

Saronic develops autonomy-first maritime platforms using advanced engineering, manufacturing, and software-defined production methods. This approach enables faster delivery of unmanned vessels with enhanced precision and scalability, addressing U.S. needs for maritime superiority amid global security challenges. The company focuses on net-new shipbuilding infrastructure to support both military and economic demands in autonomous systems.

The massive funding underscores surging investor interest in defense technology and maritime autonomy, positioning Saronic to scale operations rapidly. By bolstering domestic production, the company contributes to revitalizing American shipbuilding while advancing capabilities in unmanned naval platforms critical for national security and commercial shipping efficiency.
