GenRobot AI raises $100M Series A+ for robot training data
November 2, 2026
Raised
$100M
A cap table of automakers and search giants shows robot progress now hinges on data pipelines, not just training algorithms.
- GenRobot AI, also known as Jianzhi Robotics, closed a $100 million Series A+ that finished in Q3 2026 and was disclosed Nov. 2, with SAIC Motor, Baidu, Eastworlds, Shoucheng Holdings and Galaxy General Robotics among strategic backers.
- The Beijing startup builds capture rigs and a Matrix platform that record, clean and label human demonstrations so robots can learn household, manufacturing and logistics tasks.
- Its effective data delivered per quarter rose 10x this year, from 100,000 hours to 1 million hours, with a plan to reach 10 million hours a quarter in 2027.
- GenRobot has raised more than $200 million across seven rounds in the year since its founding, including a separate Series A led by Momenta announced in August.
- The round's backers span an automaker, a search giant and a robotics maker, showing demand for physical-world training data now cuts across industries rather than sitting inside one robotics niche.
- Language models can scrape text from the internet, but robots need physical demonstration data that is slow and expensive to collect, making whoever controls that pipeline a chokepoint in the humanoid-robot race.
