Seaya closes €600M first close of €1B European growth fund

October 26, 2026

Raised

$648M

European startups often turn to US investors once they outgrow early funding, and the new vehicle aims to close that gap.

  • Seaya announced the first close of Seaya Nova, its debut growth fund, raising €600M in just six months toward a final target of €1B.
  • Seaya is a Madrid-based VC firm that already runs early-stage fund Seaya Ventures and sustainability-focused Seaya Andromeda; Nova becomes its third strategy.
  • Nova will write €20M-€50M checks, leading or co-leading Series B through D rounds in European tech companies with proven business models and global growth ambitions.
  • The European Investment Fund anchored the close with about €300M through its European Tech Champions Initiative, with Banco Santander among the other institutional backers.
  • Vinoth Jayakumar, who spent over a decade backing European growth-stage companies including Revolut, Wise, Thought Machine and ICEYE, joins as co-managing partner and will lead a new Seaya office in London.
  • Growth-stage financing has long been a weak link for European tech, pushing scaling companies toward US capital; a homegrown €1B vehicle backed by public investment funds signals a push to retain Europe's best scale-ups.
