Amazon launches Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse AI listening wearables
October 15, 2026
The always-listening gadgets gate their deepest Alexa and shopping features behind a monthly subscription.
- Amazon unveiled the $74.99 Bee Frontier wristband and $99.99 Bee Eclipse phone attachment, its first new hardware from the Bee startup it acquired in 2025, announced by devices chief Panos Panay at TechCrunch Disrupt.
- Bee devices listen throughout the day and use AI to generate conversation summaries, transcripts, reminders and to-do lists in a companion app, syncing with Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple HealthKit.
- Frontier is a wrist-worn or clip-on band with dual microphones, an IP67 rating and about seven days of battery; Eclipse is Bee's first non-wearable, magnetically snapping onto MagSafe or Qi2 phones for up to 21 days of battery life.
- A free tier keeps two weeks of memory and basic summaries, but the deeper Alexa+ integration, unlimited summaries, third-party app connections and a desktop app require an $11-$12 per month Bee Pro subscription.
- The launch revives privacy scrutiny for Amazon, which still faces a class-action lawsuit over past reports that contractors reviewed Alexa voice recordings.
- Bee now competes with Meta's Muse Charm pendant and AI glasses, plus note-taking gadget startups like Plaud NotePin and Limitless AI, as always-listening wearables become a crowded new hardware category.
- Amazon is betting that ambient, always-recording AI hardware can become a mainstream consumer category, even as it tries to monetize that data trail through subscriptions and its retail ecosystem.
