Dragos acquires OT security startups runZero and NetRise

The deal folds asset discovery and firmware risk scanning into one platform just as OT and IT networks converge into a single attack surface.

• Dragos, the industrial cybersecurity firm, officially acquired asset-discovery startup runZero and firmware-security firm NetRise, folding both into its Dragos Platform.
• runZero, led by CEO HD Moore, finds and inventories IT, OT, and cloud assets using data sources organizations already have, giving defenders visibility into everything connected to their network.
• NetRise, led by CEO Thomas Pace and CTO Michael Scott, adds firmware and software supply-chain visibility, flagging outdated components and hardcoded credentials for compliance with NERC CIP, NIS2 and TSA directives.
• Both startups' full teams, including their CEOs, are joining Dragos to lead the integration while continuing to serve their existing customers.
• The acquisitions close on the heels of Accenture taking a majority investment in Dragos, giving the company fresh capital and global reach to expand its platform.
• Dragos also named CEO Robert M. Lee as Chairman of the Board and says it will keep operating independently and vendor-neutral, a stance seen as essential for critical infrastructure clients using multiple suppliers.
• This follows Dragos's earlier 2026 acquisition of device-security firm Phosphorus, part of a pattern of consolidating adjacent security categories under a single 'xOT' umbrella spanning devices, networks, cloud and software supply chains.
• As IT, OT and cloud systems increasingly interconnect, buyers want one platform for exposure management instead of stitching together separate point tools, and this deal is a bet that consolidation wins that market.
