Namespace raises $42M Series B for AI coding agent infrastructure

$42M
Hyperscalers optimize for production workloads, leaving coding agents without fast build-test environments to run on.
- Namespace closed a $42 million Series B led by Scale Venture Partners, with NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital, Susa Ventures and Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel participating.
- Founded in 2022 by former Google principal engineer Hugo Santos, Namespace builds coding, build and test environments across Mac, Windows and Linux for developers and AI agents.
- The round lands just seven months after Namespace's Series A, bringing total funding to $65 million as revenue grew 8x over the past year.
- Namespace now powers more than 1,000 companies, including SpaceX, xAI, Ramp, Framer, ElevenLabs and Vanta.
- Namespace runs its own server racks and has invested in native Apple Silicon support, a gap most infrastructure providers skip since they build for production, not for Mac-based iOS and macOS development.
- As coding agents multiply the volume of code needing to be built and tested, speed of build-test cycles is becoming a direct constraint on software velocity, creating demand for infrastructure purpose-built for that loop rather than repurposed cloud VMs.
